RECOVER THE DREAM was founded by Patrick Smith, a Board Certified Holistic Health Practitioner and former three-sport athlete whose career was cut short by injury. That experience became a mission: ensure no young athlete's potential is limited by lack of access to proper healthcare, nutrition, equipment, training, and educational opportunities.


Today, our professional leadership team provides the same services that elite and professional athletes receive — made accessible to youth from families below the ALICE threshold across Southeast Michigan. Through our partner organizations Sovereign Health, AIR Cryotherapy, SEC Fitness & Nutrition, and SportsSpeed, we're already delivering real results.

Our Comprehensive Approach

We address the complete athlete — preventing problems through proper nutrition, technique, and recovery. Our integrated model is unique because most programs only address one aspect.

CEO & Founder

Board Certified Holistic Health Practitioner and former three-sport athlete. Founder of Sovereign Health MI providing natural sports medicine, and owner of AIR Cryotherapy delivering professional-grade recovery with documented 50% faster healing times. Go-to recovery specialist for professional athletes including Detroit Lions players. Member of the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. Youth sports coach in hockey, flag football, and boxing.

Sarah Cunningham, RN, BSN

Chief Nutrition Officer

Registered Nurse with active Michigan license. WBC Medical Board Member and Nutrition Expert for WBC University. Certified in Sports Nutrition, Nutrient Timing, and Macro Nutrition through NASM, ISSA, and AFAA. Professional boxer known as "Barracuda." Owner of SEC Fitness & Nutrition. Specializes in fueling athletes for peak performance and safe weight management.

Chief Movement Officer

Michigan's original Speed & Agility expert with over 35 years of experience. Certified Speed and Agility Coach and owner of SportsSpeed. Contributed to multiple state championships. Athletes under his training have earned Division I spots and advanced to professional levels. Featured by Men's Health, Channel 4, and Fox 2. Developed proprietary methods that re-program dangerous movement patterns.

Chief Marketing Officer & Mental Health Advocacy Director

Internationally published spokeswoman, certified NLP practitioner, and mental health advocate serving on advisory boards for NAMI and multiple suicide prevention foundations. Co-host of a nationwide mental health awareness podcast. Studied Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine internationally, championing the integration of mental health into athletic programs.
